Terms of use
Document to be finalized before going live. This text reflects how the service actually works and the rules imposed by app stores, but the legal form, governing law and limitations of liability must be validated by legal counsel.

1. The service
DareCrush is a dating app that only shows you people you have genuinely crossed paths with physically, detected over Bluetooth. The service is provided “as is”. We may change it, suspend features for maintenance, or require an app update in order to keep using it.
How well detection works depends on your device, its settings and its battery management. We do not guarantee that any given encounter will be detected.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or over and legally able to enter into a contract. The app is prohibited to minors. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these conditions.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile and for the security of the device you are signed in on. An account is strictly personal and may not be shared or transferred.
You can delete your account at any time, from the app or from the “My account” web portal, even after uninstalling the app.
4. Rules of conduct — zero tolerance
There is no tolerance whatsoever for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, intimidate or stalk another person;
- post hateful or violent content, sexually explicit material, or anything depicting a minor;
- impersonate anyone or post a photo of a person without their agreement;
- solicit money, defraud, advertise or canvass;
- use the app for unlawful purposes, or circumvent its security measures — in particular by attempting to forge, replay or harvest other people's Bluetooth beacons.
You can report and block any user from within the app. We review reports and may, without notice, remove content, suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules.
5. Content you post
You keep your rights in your photos and your description, but you grant us the limited right to host them and display them to the people you cross paths with, in order to run the service. You warrant that you have the right to share what you post.
That right ends when you remove the content or delete your account.
6. Dating safety
DareCrush connects people who may go on to meet in real life. We do not verify users' identity or background. An encounter attests to physical proximity, nothing more.
You alone are responsible for your interactions. Be careful: meet first in a public place, tell someone you trust, and use the built-in safety location sharing. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services. Our safety advice sets out the good habits in detail.
7. Subscriptions and payments
Some features are paid (Premium, Premium+, VIP). Subscriptions purchased through Google Play or Apple's App Store are billed by those platforms and renew automatically until cancelled; you manage renewal and refunds under the rules of the platform concerned.
You can also switch off auto-renewal from the app or from the “My account” web portal.
Sharing contact details and the safety features are never paid, and no plan allows anyone to override another person's gender preferences.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the law, or to protect other users. An account subject to consistent reports may be frozen pending human review.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, DareCrush is provided without warranty and we disclaim any liability for damages arising from interactions between users or from use of the service. 10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law [of the Province of Quebec / to be specified], subject to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your place of residence.
11. Changes
We may amend these terms; the current version is shown at the top. In the event of a substantial change, we will ask you to accept them again.
